Positive quotes coupled with positive psychology exercises is the theme of the facebook based fanpage launched this week called The Happy Gym. The purpose of the fan page is to promote exercises that can be achieved in about 5-minutes a day, and that are scientifically proven to increase one’s happiness.
An example of a daily exercise from this week was an act of kindness. The exercise asked participants to “do something nice for someone else.” It went on to explain,”Science shows that acts of kindness increase our own energy, decrease depression, and relieve pain for the person performing the act! So, do something nice for someone else today. Say hi to someone you would normally pass by, offer to help a child with a task, call your grandparents. Perform 1 act of kindness and share it with us!”
The science that is referred to at The Happy Gym is the science of Positive Psychology or the study of strengths and virtues that allow humans and cultures to flourish. Positive Psychology has received great notoriety over the last several years catapulting the work of leading researchers to the top of the New York Times Best Seller list.
The founder of The Happy Gym is Amelie Chance, a Certified Coach of Positive Psychology. You can check out The Happy Gym page at www.facebook.com/thehappygym.

I had to read your post three times to get the full meaning of it. I appreciate reading what you have to say. It’s unfortunate that more people do not understand the benefits of coaching. Keep up the good work.
